Who would not wish to meet an old friend or a classmate in the idyllic mountain scenery?

What about the biggest step in life, tying the knot? Why not celebrate it in our unique hall featuring kozolec (a hayrack)?

We organize team buildings that are appropriate not just for companies, but also bigger groups of people that want to strengthen their bonds.

We are positive that with us anyone can find their own piece of paradise. One of our attributes is the accommodation rooms, so you can prolong your celebration till the early hours and wake up next morning to the refreshing mountain air.

Skiing

We are lucky that Sorica lies high in the mountains and when winter is in full swing, it is very generous with snow as well. Not far away from Sorica, there are some of the best ski resorts in Slovenia such as Vogel, Cerkno, Stari Vrh and especially Soriška Planina which is situated only 10 minutes away by car.

Cycling

Sorica offers many possibilities for cycling as well. You can choose from less difficult panoramic rides to a more demanding trip up a steep slope to the second-highest mountain pass in Slovenia. Cycling in Sorica and its vicinity requires a bit of endurance and strong will, but it will give you an unforgettable experience in return. Some of the possibilities are:

A trip to Davča
A ride on sunny slopes of Ratitovec
A leap to Dražgoše
A route to Blegoš

If you need your daily dose of adrenalin, there are arranged downhill tracks in the area of Sorica and Soriška planina. Enjoy in the breakneck ride through forests and pastures of Slovenian mountains.

Walking paths

Sorica is a small village with many beautiful corners. Here you can observe wonderful unspoilt nature, meadows cultivated by diligent locals and forests where you can rest and take a nice walk. Sorica is intertwined with several walking paths; each one unique, different and opening new possibilities. We invite you to get to know Sorica step by step and take time to uncover new dimensions. The paths are variously long and variously difficult. Listen to yourself and choose the one that you like the most.

Architectural heritage trail
The path is recommended for everyone who would like to learn about Sorica’s history through the architectural culture. You will see Sorica’s traditional “pajštuba” as they call a little hut for drying fruit, the granary, a hayrack, the Baroque church and other jewels of architecture in Sorica.

The Sorica theme path
The Sorica Theme Path has been designed to show visitors a part of Sorica's history and legends and to draw attention to some of the most attractive points in the village. The wonderful landscape, which together with the larch trees inspired the painter Ivan Grohar, is also to be admired. The path is very well marked and all along the way you will find boards with basic information that might be useful.

The Šprücar waterfall hike
For visitors who want a quick escape in nature, a short hike to the Šprücar waterfall is a perfect choice. The path is located on the edge of the village. It is well marked and suitable for everyone in slight shape. From the road it takes about 15 minutes to get to the waterfall. The view will remind you how small we are compared to nature. Let the roaring water wash away your worries.

Walking path in Košta
This path shows the very essence of natural beauty in Sorica. It is short, but surrounded by tall trees it will take you to a bench with a breath-taking view over the lower part of the village and the hills rising above it. The peace and quiet is so amazing you will remember it when you get back to the busy everyday life and it will make you want to return.

Villages under the Ratitovec mountain (Spodnje Danje, Zgornje Danje, Zabrdo, Torka)
Sorica is an ideal starting point for a short trip to the villages under the Ratitovec mountain. The path leads through all of the above mentioned villages and if you wish you can continue all the way to Ratitovec. They say time stops on top. As you walk ahead, the surrounding nature and architecture will take you back to the times passed. Indulge in the fresh air; let the breeze caress your skin, enjoy the greenness of blossoming trees, dance with the falling autumnal leaves.

Hunting tourism

If your way of relaxing is hunt, you are very welcome here. By prior arrangement, we can make an arrangement with the leaders of the local hunting clubs who can take you to the mysterious forest underneath Ratitovec.

Hiking

Walking paths in Sorica are numerous. But so are the possibilities for those, who want to take it to another level. The mountains, hills, slopes and highly situated pastures in the vicinity present great opportunities for hiking and mountaineering. The marked mountain trails will lead you to the nearby tops of Porezen, Črna Prst , Lajnar and Ratitovec.

From Soriška planina you can reach Lajnar (1549m), Možic (1602m), Šavnik (1574m), Slatnik (1600m) and Dravh (1547m) in less than one hour. All roads lead to Rome or as we say: all paths lead to Ratitovec(1667m). It is accessible from Soriška Planina, Zgornje Danje, Torka or simply from the village centre. In case you want to climb Porezen (1629m), the best starting point is in Petrovo Brdo. From there it takes 2,5h to reach the top. A challenge for the most persistent awaits in form of a 5 hour hike from Soriška planina via Baško sedlo to Črna Prst (1844m).

Adrenaline adventures

According to your wishes, we organize various adrenaline adventures with your own guide. Read more about the possibilities on the Outdoor Slovenia website.

Heritage of Ivan Grohar

To experience a small part of life of Ivan Grohar, the famous Slovene painter, take a walk along Grohar’s path to his home in Geblarji. A one way route starts at Grohar’s House where he was born, follows yellow signposts and after four kilometres brings you to Martin’s house in Geblarji. That is the same route little Grohar took to get to school every day. You can relive it with your family, for it is not difficult and thus suitable for a nice Sunday hike.

We also recommend a visit to Grohar’s House which offers Grohar’s memorial collection, a collection of ethnographical objects and the speciality: music and art workshops which guarantee fun no matter the talent.
